This year marked the 70th anniversary of Silverton Engineering and as a token of appreciation to all its employees; a small gift was handed to all as part of the celebrations. On a cold winter’s morning in June, Leon Bukes (Commercial Manager) presented Maartin Boshoff (Managing Director) with the 1st gift before addressing the employees.
After many years of supplying the local and international markets with Copper/Brass radiators, sadly in August the very last container was shipped as part of the closure of this production facility. The facility will be re-designed to accommodate for the expansion of the press & welding assembly contracts awarded by the Automotive Manufacturers.
On a more positive note, at the end June was the 1st export shipment of transformer radiators leaving for Siemens, Austria.
It took more than two years of negotiations and very strict quality standards being applied before final approval was received from Siemens, also a 1st in the history of Silverton Engineering that transformer radiators are being exported. This was followed by the 1st supply of transformer radiators into Zambia by road freight.
